I’m travelling to Marbella in July and was thinking of getting a train from Malaga Airport to cut costs of my trip.
Does anyone know how long the journey takes and how much it costs?
Thanks
ANSWER: There is no train that goes all the way to Marbella. However, from Malaga airport a train runs every half hour to Fuengirola, at 23 mins and 53 mins past the hour. The journey time is 35 mins and the cost about 2 euros.
From Fuengirola you can get a Portillo bus to Marbella, which takes around an hour and will be in the region of 2 euros also. This bus runs twice an hour, on the hour and half past the hour.
There is also a bus that goes direct from the airport to Marbella, the journey time is around 45 mins and the cost under 5 euros.

Providing the bus departure time coincides reasonably with your arrival this method is the quickest and would very likely save you 50+ euros against a taxi price.

Try looking at one of the Continental train timetables, possibly Spanish Railways, on the internet.
I find that the best information for any where in Europe is available from Germany. Try http://www.bahn.de They have English pages.

A work colleague told me yesterday that its only about two euros.
He frequently goes out there, and was saying he spends 80 euros on a taxi. I said there was a train, he quoted the price and said "but by this time I just want to sit back and relax."
The phrase ‘more money than sense’ comes to mind.
