I land in the afternoon and have a connecting flight the next day at 4am so it’s not worth the cost of a hotel. In most big airports you can hang around eating and drinking and snoozing, I wondered if Madrid was the same. Thanks
Lanzarote is closed overnight – that’s my reason for asking.
I’ve looked in Aena thanks and I was definitely planning on spending a few hours playing in Madrid before the flight.

Not all airports are open 24hrs: if there are no flights arriving/ separting in the night then they tend to close, however major ‘hub’ airports are open 24hrs
rather than waiting at the airport I would recommend catching the metro into the centre of Madrid – have a look at the shops, visit the Prada, visit the royal palace, go for some tapas, go out to a bar etc etc – Madrid is a great place in which to spend a few hours

as there is plains comming in from everywhere.
at every minuite of the day.
a few weeks ago i flew into palma airport and there was a plain leaving every 2 minuites!!!
and thats not even a big airport!

Yes! I have been stuck there twice on way back to UK. The seats are really uncomfortable for a quick snooze bythe way

airports open 24hrs?
Sure, some major ones are, but the shops etc inside them are not.
If you are gonna hang out in madrid airport, take plenty water and grub, oh and something soft to lay on. Be prepared to be moved on every 25 mins

And yes Madrid is the same as Stansted but ppl is friendlier than in the U.K.

I would say that most International Airports such as Madrid are open 24 hrs. Some airports are starting to add areas that you can rent to sleep in, almost like little cubicle areas.
