What’s the best way to travel from Barcelona Intl airport to Aqua Hotel Bella Playa, Malgrat de Mar?
Take a shuttle bus from the airport into Barcelona. This will take you to SANTS train station. There you can get a train for Malgrat de Mar. (There is also a bus line, but the train is best and easiest).
I want to take a European Cruise in May and I need to know if it is cheaper to find my own air fare including transportation to the pier or use the cruise lines. The departure port is Barcelona and the arriving port is Venice.
It is cheaper to find your own airfare usually, but if you book the airfare through the cruise line, they will hold the ship for you if the plane is delayed. If you book the airfare yourself without the cruise line, they WILL NOT hold the ship!
We want to get from the airport to our hotel preferably via public transport. We are not sure exactly how to do it.
Which metro line goes to the airport?
There is no information on the Madrid public transport page, or on the airport page on Metro going to the airport. I cannot figure out how to do this on metro. There are some kind of shuttle bus and a RENFE train. Which is a better choice?
Plaça de Espanya is a HUGE hub of all transportation. There’s a big metro station there. Just take the Metro. It costs, like, a euro.
Is it easy to get from Barcelona Girona airport to Barcelona, and how much does it cost?
ANSWER
Yes, it’s pretty easy with a choice of ways and prices.
Taxi – the dearest alternative, with prices starting from £92.28 for 1 or 2 persons. Suggest book on line with Shuttledirect.
Bus – there is a bus, operated by the bus company Sagales, meeting every plane arriving at Girona, and usually leaving around 30 mins after landing. For the journey of about 1hr 10mins, the price is 12 euros per person one way, or 21 euros return – the bus takes you to Estació del Nord bus station in Barcelona (very close to Arc de Triomf.
Train – this involves getting into Girona itself firstly, where from the main station there are regular trains to Barcelona, with prices from 6.45 euros one way.
Out of the three alternatives, I think the bus is the best bet but it’s obviously a matter of personal choice.
Hope this helps.
I am planning in January… It would be with Continental Airlines. I am a one-pass member. How many miles do I need to fly round-trip from EWR to BCN (Barcelona Airport)? I currently have 14,000 miles. Is that enough?
Thanks!
ANSWER
Sorry, but it’s not even close. You need a minimum of 50,000 miles to get an award ticket to Europe. You can’t even get an award ticket within the US on 14,000 miles.
A complete chart is available on Continental’s website. Follow this link:

We are flying from Barcelona in August and will be away for 8 days. Is the airport long-term parking the best option or are there any companies near by which offer cheaper services?
Best Answer
The parking at Barcelona airport is expensive if you are looking for an economical stay.
You can look for private parking near the airport they are good for you may be.
I have a flight booked from what I thought was Barcelona only to find its from Girona (ryanair!!). I read about a bus that runs from Barcelona to the Airport to coincide with the flight but I can’t seem to find the relevant info regards times, in order to catch my flight to Manchester – can find info for many other destinations but not Manchester….any ideas?
ANSWER
There is a regular bus shuttle service that goes to and from Girona airport – departures are timed to fit with Ryanair flights. It works very well and costs 12 euros for a single and 21 euros return.
You can find the link to the Girona airport bus service with links to timetables here:

The bus leaves from Girona Aiport and arrives at Estacio Nord Bus station in Barcelona centre – where you can take a cab or metro to your final destination.
You can find the address of Estacio Nord bus station here:

Here is the link to the Girona Airport in case you need it

I am planning on renting a car at Barcelona Airport in June and driving to the coast. How difficult is it to maneuver out and around the Barcelona Airport?
ANSWER:
It’s really easy to rent a car at Barcelona. Just use the Spain Airport Car Hire Search to compare prices from Avis, Hertz, Europcar, National Atesa and Sol-Mar.
Barcelona Airport is pretty easy to navigate – it is well sign posted and situated on a major road the C-32. I personally don’t find the roads any more confusing or busier than in other European city.
Barcelona Airport is about 10 km from the city centre, by the way.
This is a great video to watch if you’re flying out of Barcelona Airport.
It shows you the bars and shops that you’ll find once you’ve checked into Departures.
So if you haven’t bought those last minute presents or need to grab something to eat before you fly, you can rest assured.
The food is much better than on the plane, by the way.
